Roleplay scenario examplesRole play scenarios for sales, service and leadership. Practice each one with AI.

These examples show how a scenario works: the situation, an AI character with a reason to push back and the criteria the conversation is scored on. Run them as sales role play scripts in a workshop, or practice them with an AI voice and get feedback after every attempt. Need a different conversation? We build scenarios on any topic, for your industry.

Scenario examples

How a scenario is built

Four parts in every scenario. The last one changes behavior.

  1. 01

    The situation

Who you are, who you are talking to, what happened before this conversation and what a good outcome looks like.

  2. 02

    The AI character

A person with a role, a company, priorities and objections they won’t raise first. The character reacts to what you actually say.

  3. 03

    The criteria

Three to seven behaviors the conversation is scored on, taken from ready-made skill models or from your own competency model.

  4. 04

    The feedback

A score for each criterion after every run, the lines that worked and the ones to change. Then the next attempt.

Two ways to use them

Read it as a script. Or practice it with an AI character.

In a workshop

Run it between two colleagues

One person plays the character from the character card, the other plays the rep or the manager, and a third scores the conversation against the criteria. The dialogue lines on each page show how the conversation can go.

  • Situation and character card to hand out
  • Criteria an observer can score
  • Three difficulty levels per scenario
With The Reflection

Practice it with an AI voice or video character

The character reacts to what the learner says, so no two runs are the same. Every run is scored on the same criteria, and the AI coach points to the lines worth changing before the next attempt.

  • Any time, as often as needed
  • Scored after every run
  • Your own scenarios and competency model

Need a conversation that isn’t on this page? We build it on any topic, for your industry.

Scenarios by team

Each scenario belongs to a program. Here is where to find it.

Sales

Discovery, objections and negotiation

Cold calls, MEDDIC and SPIN discovery and price objections are part of AI roleplay for sales training, with AI buyers for every deal stage.

Examples to read include a cold call to a VP who has never heard of your company, a buyer who calls the proposal too expensive and procurement asking for 20% off and 90-day terms.

Managers

Feedback and conflict

Feedback, conflict and one-to-one scenarios sit in AI roleplay for leadership development, built for new and experienced managers.

Examples to read: two engineers in conflict after a reverted change and feedback for a senior claims handler who skipped a file note.

Customer service

Complaints and escalations

Angry customers, refunds and service recovery are covered in customer service training with AI customers.

An example to read: a hotel guest whose booked room was given away.

Reviews

Ratings and hard reviews

Underperformance, disputed ratings and goal setting are rehearsed in performance review training for managers.

An example to read: an account lead’s review after a year of missed goals.

FAQ

Questions about the scenarios.

What is a sales role play scenario?

A short, realistic sales conversation set up for practice: who the buyer is, what they want, what they will object to and what a good outcome looks like. A scenario also lists the criteria the conversation is scored on, so practice has a clear standard.

Are these role play scenarios free to use?

Yes. The situation, the character and the criteria on each page are free to use in your own workshops. Practicing with an AI character and getting scored feedback after each run is part of The Reflection platform.

Can I use them as sales role play scripts?

You can, but a scenario works better than a script. A script fixes the words; a scenario fixes the situation and the goal and lets the conversation go wherever the learner takes it. The dialogue lines on each page show one strong way through it.

How is a scenario scored with AI?

The AI scores what the learner says against the scenario’s criteria, such as asking before answering or agreeing on a dated next step. Skills like empathy are judged from the content of the replies. The platform does not read the learner’s emotions; only the AI character has a mood, as part of the scenario.

Can you build a scenario on our own topic?

Yes, on any topic. Describe a real situation, and we build the scenario around your products and industry: the AI character, the backstory and the criteria. Your L&D team can also build its own in the scenario builder, without developers. Upload your documents so the AI character knows your offer and policies, and load your sales methodology, review process or competency model as the scoring standard.

Which languages are the scenarios available in?

Every scenario can be practiced in more than 50 languages, including English and French, so teams rehearse in the language of the real conversation.

Bring your own conversation. Practice it this week.

Book a short demo and describe the conversation that matters to your team, on any topic, in your industry. We set up a version of it before the call and run it with you. Or pick one of the examples on this page.
